Success Story Submitted by: Beth Kanitz, SLP Nye, a 6 year-old male, received an initial speech/language evaluation on March, 13th 2013.Nye was diagnosed with a severe articulation and phonological impairment.Nye has worked extremely hard since March and has mastered all of his articulation goals in 4 months time.He is now working on new articulation sounds.Nye’s speech intelligibility was judged to be 50-60% intelligible at the initiation of therapy.Nye’s speech is now judged to be 95% intelligible!Nye’s success can be attributed to his motivation and hard work in therapy sessions and to exceptional cooperation with practicing with his family at home.He is now understood by his family and friends and is excited to show off his new and improved speech skills at school as a first grader!
